Creating the perfect professional resume, searching for job vacancies and graduate employment opportunities, practicing job interview questions and attending job interviews are all important facets of the application process. While each of these components is an integral part of finding the right job, it is also important to manage your expectations during the entire application process and to see each step as an opportunity to learn and grow, regardless of whether or not it results in a job.
Setting your sights on a particular workplace and formulating expectations of recruitment and job placement may result in dashed hopes and leave you feeling disappointed and deflated. Even the most perfectly prepared candidate, well-versed in job interview answers and sporting a stellar resume, can be trumped by someone with a better attitude, more experience or whom the interviewers simply perceive as a better fit.

a) Check your attitude prior to attending the interview
Are you tense, agitated or nervous? Be aware of how you are feeling and what you are thinking, and do not take these negative feelings to the interview. LEAVE THEM AT THE FRONT DOOR. It’s almost impossible to apply interview skills effectively while processing your own issues at the same time.
